Types Of Wall Clocks

There are so many different types of wall clocks available today that it can be overwhelming! While it’s definitely a good thing that there is such a range of styles it does make it more difficult to make a choice. In this article we’ll be discussing some of the more common types of wall clocks available and when they may be appropriate to use.

Digital Wall Clock
If you have a contemporary home then a digital wall clock may be the perfect choice. While they certainly aren’t for everyone they can add an almost space age feel to a home. When people imagine digital wall clocks they usually think of the regular black background with red text style but there are plenty more styles available.

Wood Wall Clock
In contrast to digital clocks, wooden wall clocks are usually used in homes that are decorated in a traditional way. However, it’s fair to say that wood wall clocks are more versatile than digital clocks in that they can be used effectively in a number of different types and styles of room. This is because there are many different types of wood used when creating clocks and the type used will go some way to determining the style. You can get wooden wall clocks that bring a classic feel to a room while you can also buy ones that are more contemporary in design.

Pendulum Wall Clock
If you want to add something a little different to the style of your room then a pendulum wall clock may be perfect for you. In the past, pendulum clocks used to be expensive but you can now get them online for around $50 making them a great option for most homes. However, they may not work well in very modern homes but they should go well with the majority of other styles.

Metal Wall Clock
Most people tend to imagine metal wall clocks as being another type that only work well in modern homes but this isn’t necessarily the case. Metal clocks can be very futuristic in design but they can also be ornate depending on where you buy them from and which type of style you go for. For this reason you shouldn’t rule them out until you’ve looked at the options.

Of course there are many other types of wall clocks like large wall clocks, wrought iron wall clocks, wall grandfather clocks, modern wall clocks, and brand name wall clocks like Bulova wall clocks, Howard Miller wall clocks, Nextime wall clocks and Hermie wall clocks.

When buying a clock you should take into account the colour as well as the overall style. For example, a black wall clock made out of wood may not work well in some situations where other colours of wood can.
